Members

Markus "Make" Görlitz

Markus "Make" Görlitz

Vocals

Birthday: September 12th 1984

Hobbies: Music, Soccer

Favorite Bands: Green Day, System of a Down, U2, Sunrise Avenue, Foo Fighters

Role Models: Andrea Boticelli, Luciano Pavarotti, Intwine

Markus isn’t a volunteer firefighter, but he is always around when it is sizzling hot. And just as it should be for a great leader, Markus is totally loyal, decisive and has a hard time subordinating himself. That is why  he didn’t follow Andi into playing professional soccer. Like his brother, Markus is an avid soccer player. His specialty: Ass-kicking, the official Room 77 team sport. The only thing he likes more, is music. Markus has always been a singer, but mainly on a personal level. The first time he sang in public was at his parents’ silver wedding anniversary. That is where Markus and Andi congratulated “Christa and Achim” with a personalized version of “Highway to Hell”.

Andreas "Andi" Görlitz

Andreas "Andi" Görlitz

Guitar

Birthday: January 31st 1982

Hobbies: Music

Favorite Bands: Green Day, U2, Foo Fighters

Let’s put it this way: Andi does not fit the typical stereotype of a professional soccer player. At least we do not know of any other athletes from FC Bayern Muenchen who have formed a band, written songs and then produced a CD. What a huge accomplishment for somebody who 5 years ago couldn’t even play a chord on a guitar. It all started as a sort of distraction from all the hard physical training he had to do after a severe injury. Where it has ended is now an open book. One thing that has become obvious, when Andi puts his mind to something, watch out. This is true in his soccer playing and also in his music.

Michael "Michi" Kratzl

Michael "Michi" Kratzl

Drums

Birthday: June 22nd 1977

Hobbies: Music, Fishing

Favorite Bands: U2, Coldplay, Aerosmith, Police, Krokus, Maná, Pink Floyd, Radiohead

Role Models: Steward Copeland (Police), Steven Tyler, Joey Kramer (Aerosmith), Alex Gonzalez (Maná)

It is definitely not a mistake to call Michi the calming force of the band. As the oldest member he brings experience to the table. As the drummer he is responsible for laying the basic musical structure of Room 77. Rhythm is in his blood.  Since he was a child he drummed to the rhythms of Men at Work on his mother’s laundry detergent boxes. Downright fresh! Since he acquired a real drum set,  Michi has been involved in many things. Normally the drummers of marching bands and big bands do not end up playing rock and roll; especially drummers like Michi (who is so unpretentious and humble). Any Bloodhound band would have kicked him out a long time ago, because he is too talented and way too nice :-). Michi was contemplating putting his drumming career to rest before he joined Room 77. Thank goodness he decided differently.

Temren "Tem" Demirbolat

Temren „Tem“ Demirbolat

Guitar

Birthday: April 9th 1988

Hobbies: Music, Soccer, Snowboarding, to let it rip

Favorite Bands: Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, Stray Cats, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Foo Fighters

Role Models: James Hetfield (Metallica/Charisma), Joe Morello (Jazz-Musiker/Drums), Dave Murray (Iron Maiden/Gitarre)

Tem adds an international flair to the Bavarian band. His Grandfather is Russian, His father is from Turkey, his mother is half French and half German. Even though he combines 4 nationalities into one person he is still fully Bavarian. The proof is not solely in his dialect. Since he completed his Abi (Equivalent to Associates Degree) in 2008, the youngest member of the band has taken a little creative timeout from further studies. This way he can fully concentrate on his music and let it really “rip”, a trait that isn’t  confined only to his musical endeavors. Yes, Tem is a real chameleon. On the one hand he is  reserved and quiet and on the other  he is ready to participate in any mischief. When it comes to music though, there is only one direction to take: full speed ahead and with his “screeming” guitar.

Manuel "Manu" Riesemann

Manuel "Manu" Riesemann

Bass

Birthday: October 21st 1987

Hobbies: Hang gliding, Music

Favorite Bands: Green Day, Foo Fighters, Nirvana, U2, Coldplay, Mando Diao, Kings of Leon

Role Models: Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), Michael "Flea" Balzary (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Billy Joe Armstrong.

Manu is a born entertainer, at least that is what he says. This is a claim that all the members of Room 77 second entirely. If you are ever looking for some Saturday evening entertainment and Thomas Gottschalk is not available, then we can wholeheartedly recommend Manu. Music is his biggest hobby, but in his free time he likes to soar high. His second passion is hang gliding. By the way, Manu isn’t only an entertainer off stage, but he also enjoys engaging the audience during concerts. A mutually enjoyable relationship.
